Basic Irish Language Course Giveaway for Seachtain na Gaeilge, Bunchúrsa Gaeilge saor in aisce mar chuid de Sheachtain na Gaeilge

As part of Seachtain na Gaeilge 2011, Forbairt Naíonraí Teoranta are giving away FREE copies of one of their publications.

An Chéad Chéim is a basic language course aimed at those working with children in crèches, preschools, play groups, after-school services, etc., but is also used by parents as a way to introduce the cúpla focal at home, by using simple words and phrases. It is divided into different sections or topics such as ‘Morning Greeting’, ‘Lunchtime’ and ‘Going home’. Each section includes basic words and phrases, aswell as a short rhyme relevant to the topic.

Due to demand from the public, there are currently two, more comprehensive, publications in development by FNT, which are due to go on sale in the coming months. The first is a phrase-book for parents and childminders, BunGhaeilge do Thuismitheoirí agus Feighlithe Leanaí, which will also be accompanied by a CD, to aid with pronunciations. The second is a handbook aimed at those who work with children, How to Enjoy Irish with Young Children. It is a comprehensive collection of phrases, rhymes and songs accompanied by CDs.

If you wish to further increase your use of Irish with children, or to introduce different mediums such as stories or songs, FNT have a wide range of products available. An order form is available for download from www.naionrai.ie/tacaiocht/diolachan/index.en.

An Chéad Chéim is available in PDF format on FNT’s website at www.naionrai.ie/tacaiocht/ailt/index.en.
