“LEAVING IRELAND” Kenny Ryder‘s new single, The emigration anthem of 2012.

“LEAVING IRELAND”, a new song release written by veteran musicians singer song- writer Kenny Ryder and accordionist Joe Neary has just been released.

The song is turning out to be very popular on radio stations nationwide and has been titled an emigration song for 2012.

With the way the Irish economy is and so many Irish having to emigrate to find work, the song strikes a chord in the hearts of people with friends and family gone from home.

The song was recorded at Gaf studios in New Inn, Cashel, Co. Tipperary and the video was recorded at Star Sytems studio, Thurles. The video is impressive and well shot, with talented backing singers and the magical drumming of Noel Scanlon. It has received over 2000 hits already on YouTube and is sure to get many more. (video attached below)

The video of the song will be shown on Sky channel 201 as part of Showcase Irish music West at 10pm Monday February 13th, and it will feature on The Phil Mac show on the same channel. This programme is viewed not only in Ireland and the Uk, but also America and Australia, meaning it has potential to be viewed and heard by a large audience.

Tipp Fm and Kilkenny radio are constantly receiving requests for “LEAVING IRELAND” and it is played several times throughout the day.

It’s great to see local talent getting some recognition for their hard work

And we wish Kenny and Co the very best of luck with the single.

Keep an eye on The Tipp Tatler for more local releases, events, and up coming gigs:
