Limerick band Acoustra release new single, The Living Years

Limerick based Folk/Rock Fusion group Acoustra are officially releasing a new single in mid-June this year. The song is a cover version of Mike and the Mechanics 80’s classic “The Living years”. The version is an acoustic tribute featuring button accordion, acoustic guitar and piano. It was recorded live upstairs in Dolans Bar on the Dock Road by producer and honorary fifth member of the band Kieran O Loughlin. Originally from Co Clare, Kieran now lives and works in Stockholm and comes home to record with Acoustra as often as he can. The band have been working together for the past 8 years, performing, writing and arranging music. They are now starting to receive some deserved media attention. The Living Years single has received great response at live performances and should prove to be very popular on radio too. It is being officially released for Father’s Day which falls on June 17th, in keeping with the songs sentiment. Acoustra will launch the single in Limerick city and plan to promote it on radio stations in the surrounding area, with eventual nationwide publicity. The band have an album in the pipeline too, which will be released towards the end of summer, this debut album from Acoustra will feature “the living years” track, and the rest of the album will be made up of original works. The band can regularly be seen playing small to large gigs all over the country. Acoustra will also continue lending their talents to assist raising funds for orphaned children through The Irish Society of Azerbaijan. In the meantime Acoustra looking forward to performing in their regular venues and are lined up to play the intimate venue of the White Horse Sessions Lahinch on June 19th. Like all Acoustra gigs the show will feature a mixture of original tracks and unique covers. The living years will also be on the set list.
