Dublin Guitar Quartet head for Nenagh Arts Centre

The Dublin Guitar Quartet who perform at Nenagh Arts Centre on the 22nd September is Ireland’s leading guitar ensemble and includes Brian Bolger, Pat Brunnock, David Creevy and Tomas O’Durcain.

The quartet’s concerts include a mix of celebrated works of the guitar quartet repertoire and modern classics by internationally acclaimed composers such Philip Glass, Steve Reich, Henryk Gorecki and Arvo Part. In March of 2004, Lyric FM broadcast their Mermaid Arts Centre concert over two installments of the ‘Horizons’ programme. This concert included a world premier of Four Guitars by internationally acclaimed composer Kevin Volans.

The DGQ have played as guests of ‘rock’ groups such as The Redneck Manifesto (Dublin) and Final Fantasy (Canada) performing in venues such as Vicar St., Whelan’s of Wexford Street, the Project Arts Centre, Crawdaddy and the Roisin Dubh, Galway.

The concert will take place at 9 p.m. on Saturday, 22nd September. Doors open at 8 p.m. Admission is €15 and tickets are available from Nenagh Arts Centre in Banba Square on 067 34400.

In addition, these four fantastic musicians will be coming to Nenagh the night before their concert (Friday, 21st) to give a workshop in guitar playing.
