New Arrangements Recognise Difficulties Caused by Wet Weather

IFA President John Bryan has welcomed the announcement of the arrangements to allow the spreading of slurry until November 16th, and the relaxation of green cover for tillage farmers.

He said, “The Minister for the Environment Phil Hogan and the Minister for Agriculture Simon Coveney have recognised the real difficulties on farms caused by the ongoing wet weather conditions”.

John Bryan said following discussions between IFA and both departments, the flexibility in the arrangements had been agreed with Commission officials in Brussels.
