Laois Citizens Urged to Support Cookies for Santa

Taking time out from his busy December schedule, Mr Santa Claus, Chairman and CEO, North Pole Enterprises and Good Will to All Men Ltd, today launched a new fundraising initiative to help raise vital funds for Cappagh Hospital Foundation, the fundraising arm of Cappagh National Orthopaedic Hospital (CNOH) and Aware, Ireland’s voluntary organisation founded to assist those directly affected by the illness of depression.

 

Speaking at the launch this morning, Mr Claus called on all Laois people, saying, “We’re lucky in that we have hundreds and thousands of Irish children’s names in our database. It keeps track of everything from their address and to whether they have been bad or good. That should give us a leg up on fundraising!” he said. “However, we would like to encourage everyone in Laois to buy a Cookie for

Santa at your local Tesco store (Portlaoise Extra) and leave it out for me on Christmas Eve. All proceeds from the sale of the cookies will go to Cappagh Hospital Foundation and Aware, Tesco’s Charity of the Year.”

 

Cookies for Santa will be available in 104 Tesco stores throughout Ireland until December 31st 2012 and are on sale for €2.50. They come with a label so any child can write their name on it to let Santa know it is from them. The cookies are made with Belgian caramel waffles covered in luxurious Belgian milk chocolate. In addition, the Cookies for Santacampaign is also offering a number of prizes whereby those who purchase a cookie can send in a cookie label to be in with a chance to win one of seven €500 cash prizes or one of 110 €100 Tesco shopping vouchers. The closing date for the competition is Friday, 25th January, 2013.
