The New Seat Leon Sc Coupe Coming to Irealand in July

With the new SEAT Leon just weeks away from its Irish launch, there is now further news of a further variant to the new Leon range, which is set to come to Ireland this summer. The Leon SC – Sports Coupé is the three-door variant of the Leon, the first time that there has been a second version of the car. The Leon SC will appeal to those who want an even sportier flavour from their Leon with a shorter wheelbase than the five-door model, reduced by 35mm. This combined with very short overhangs; a more steeply raked rear windscreen and the characteristic SEAT “Linea Dinamica” on the sides give the new car a very purposeful look. The Leon SC won’t just be compromising in terms of space however, with a 380-litre luggage compartment and generous cabin space.

There will be a choice of engines in the Leon SC ranging from the 1.2 TSI petrol engine with either 86bhp or 105bhp, right up to the 1.8 TSI 180bhp petrol engine. In between these are 1.6-litre 90bhp and 105bhp diesels and a 2.0-litre 184bhp diesel that puts out an impressive 380Nm of torque.

There will be a choice of three trim levels, Reference, Style and FR, with the SC FR featuring the SEAT Drive Profile which offers the chance to adapt the settings to suit individual preferences. It allows the driver to vary the characteristics of the power steering and throttle response which is modulated across three modes – eco, comfort and sport. In sport mode, the interior lighting in the door panels change to a red hue to give a more dynamic feeling.

The interior will also feature the SEAT Easy Connect infotainment system which features a touch sensitive screen of up to 5.8 inches for control of the entertainment, communication and navigation functions, as well as a variety of other vehicle functions. The top versions feature proximity sensors to make operation even more intuitive.

The new Leon SC comes to Ireland this July. Prices have yet to be set, but will be in the region of €18,495 starting off.
