Corrigan Brothers Head to Wembley to perform for Watford FC at Championship Play Off Final

Corrigan Brothers- the Puckane Band  whose international hit “There’s no one as Irish as Barack Obama” saw them reach ten million you tube hits and chart all over the world as well as playing for President Barack Obama have turned their attention to Watford FC and will release “Your Song, Watford 2013” to celebrate Watford’s heroic Championship Play off campaign. Lead singer Ger Corrigan told Tipp Tatler that the brothers were contacted by a friend who lives in Watford last week and were asked to put a song together. “We were aware of Elton John’s long standing connection to the Club and thought it would be nice to re-work one of his songs, so we adapted the lyrics to his bit hit “Your Song” and sent it over to our contact.

Within hours the brothers were contacted by the club who were delighted with the song. Ger Corrigan continued, “we sent the song on Monday morning and the club contacted us immediately and expressed their delight, they have sent the song to Elton John so it will be nice to hear what he thinks of it. The song went on the Watford website on Tuesday morning and is receiving great attention. We were then invited to attend the play of final in Wembley on May 27th and perform the song in Watford’s hospitality area for some special guests”.

The Brothers are currently recording a soundtrack for a commemorative documentary on the 100th Anniversary of World War One which is being made by an American TV company and one of there songs has recently appeared in an advertisement campaign in Singapore. They will participate in the 75th Anniversary of Wrong Way Corrigan’s historic flight from New York to Ireland in New York in July.

Ger Corrigan continued, “we are really looking forward to Wembley with Watford and hope to perform the song with Elton , he is still very passionate about Watford, we want to persuade him to swing by Kennedy’s in Puckane and perform this song with us”.

Your Song- Watford 2013   (new words Corrigan Brothers/Music Sir Elton John)

It’s a little bit Magic ,This Watford side

When they beat Leicester, how the fans cried

They don’t have much money, but if they did

They wouldn’t buy Messi, they have Troy Deeney instead

if I was a sculptor, well don’t you know

I’d sculpt a great model of Vicarage Road

I know it’s not much, but it’s the best I can do

This song ‘s for the Hornets, each one of you

And you can tell everybody, this is your song

The Hornets are going, back where they belong

I hope you don’t mind , I hope you don’t mind

That I put down in words

How wonderful life is

In the Premier League World

I sat on the roof and thought of times gone

The great Graham Taylor, and Elton John

The sun’s been quite kind, while I wrote this song

It’s for people like you, who believed all along

So excuse me forgetting, some things that I’ve said

This song’s for the heroes in yellow and red

Anyway the thing is, what I really mean

The hornets are goin’ to, the premier league

And you can tell everybody, this is your song

The Hornets are going, back where they belong

I hope you don’t mind , I hope you don’t mind

That I put down in words

How wonderful life is

In the Premier League World
