Corrigan Brothers team up with Eurovision winner Shay Healy to release Limerick Hurling Song

Castletroy’s Corrigan Brothers and “What’s another Year” , Eurovision song writing winner Shay Healy are currently recording a song to celebrate the Limerick Hurling team’s summer of excitement.  The song , entitled “  Sporting Limerick-Hurling’s coming home   “ will be released on July 30th and will celebrate the Limerick teams achievements as well as past legends of the game. Lead singer Ger Corrigan told us, “Shay and ourselves regularly write together and we have appeared on ‘Up for the Match’ together as well as recording a chart topping song for the Dublin Football team in 2011. After watching the Munster Final on TV Shay called us with a suggestion about a Limerick Hurling song so we got together earlier this week and started work with him and the song is currently being recorded.”

 

 

The Song already has radio playlist slots on BBC radio UK, Canadian and US as well as Australia Radio stations. “We work with a lot of Irish  Music Radio shows throughout the world and regularly do interviews with them, they are all looking forward to playing the Limerick Song as the story of Limerick Hurling 2013 has captured the imagination of so many Limerick People Living abroad” , Ger continued.

 

The song will have a sense of fun, and some nostalgia, as well as celebrating the current team , there will be mentions of the Cregans, Grimes, Hartigans, Careys, Kirbys, Herberts, Nashs, Bennises, McKennas, Quaids and even JP McManus as well as the new Mick Mackey statue.

 

Sporting Limerick-Hurling’s Coming Home will be released on July 25th and will also feature as a track On Corrigan Brothers new album, A Box of Tricks” which will be released in the USA in  October with an Irish release scheduled for December.
