Is Your Local Community Ahead of the Digital Pack? Entries Now Open for the Samsung Digital Media Awards 2014

THE hunt is on for inspiring advocates of the digital age in your local communities across the country as entries open for the Samsung Digital Media Awards 2014.

 

The Samsung Digital Media Awards 2014 celebrate and showcase excellence within the digital media sector in Ireland. This year organisers have introduced nine new, exciting categories to encompass schools, communities and online bloggers.

 

Digital Community of the Year award will recognise communities who are utilising digital to create local prosperity and inclusion using digital to attract business, stimulate job creation, build skills, generate economic growth and improve delivery of government services.

 

Entries close November 18th at 5pm.The winning entries in the Samsung Digital Media Awards 2014 will be announced at an Awards ceremony on February 21, 2014, taking place at the Double Tree Hilton Hotel in Dublin.

Over 500 industry heads are expected to be in attendance at the event, where this year’s finalists’ passion for digital media will be showcased!

 

Event organiser Tracey Carney said: “I am very excited to introduce the new categories to the awards – we want to recognise innovation and excellence in all areas of digital. Digital Media is in involved in everything these days from a school project to a marketing campaign, promotion of a local computer skills training course to a food writers blog. My aim for 2014 is to increase public awareness of the Samsung Digital Media Awards and showcase Ireland passion for Digital.”

 

Created in 2003 and now in their 12th year, the Awards offer a platform for the dynamic work taking place across the broad spectrum of digital media.
