Students and families urged to meet SUSI deadline at midnight on Saturday August 1st

The Union of Students in Ireland (USI) is urging students and parents to submit their grant funding applications for the student grant awarding body, SUSI (Student Universal Support Ireland) before the deadline at Saturdaymidnight, August 1st to ensure the opportunity to receive a student grant for their studies.

USI President Kevin Donoghue said that “it is crucial that students apply for the SUSI grant but more importantly that they submit scanned copies of all the required supporting documentation required by SUSI, and any documents they feel are important for their case, before the deadline on Saturday night”
SUSI has estimated over 110,000 applications are expected to be submitted for the 2015/2016 academic year at which 85,000 applications have already been received. Mr Donoghue stated, “There is still time to get the grant application to SUSI. Students and parents should visit www.susi.ie for more information on grant eligibility and ensure”

The deadline for applications is midnight on Saturday night, 1st August. (Not midnight on Friday)

USI works everyday to ensure its membership of over 354,000 students in Ireland have access to third level education by providing information, advocating for positive change and through pro-active campaigns alongside its students’ unions.
