February 2016 now odds on to see General Election

After previous reports of an election looming before the end of 2015, it now looks like it may be February next year when we head to the polls.

Initially November 2015 was red hot at 1/3 to see an election take place, but following a fairly uplifting Budget on Tuesday the odds have drifted out to 10/1 with February 2016 now odds on at 8/15, having been 3/1 last week.

December 2015 is priced at 25/1 with January 2016 a 9/1 chance. March 2016 has also seen its price slashed with it now priced at 6/4 that we will be asked to cast our vote in March having initially been available at 3/1.

Liam Glynn, BoyleSports’ spokesperson said: “Following Budget 2016 it now looks like we won’t be heading to the polls in 2015 with early 2016 looking like a big player as February is now odds on at 8/15 having been 3/1 last week.”

He added “Budget 2016 didn’t see too many hikes with the current government looking safe for 2015 as the Irish public appear on their side, but you never know with politics, it only takes a small slip up to send the Dáil and public into turmoil.”
