Very much the leading artist of her generation, 17-years old Lucy, from Luggacurren – a pupil at Gaelcholáiste Cheatharlach and midfielder with the Laois county ladies minor football team – was one of a small number of young artists recently invited by the Ombudsman for Children office to produce a work in celebration of the 25th Anniversary of Ireland’s ratification of the UN Convention of the Rights of the Child.

Next week her work will feature in an exhibition entitled ‘Time and Space’ – A Celebration of Texaco Children’s Art Success in Laois’ taking place at the Laois Arthouse Gallery, Stradbally.
