IFA Presidential candidate secures nominations for election

IFA Presidential Candidate and National Treasurer Tim Cullinan confirmed today that he has secured nominations for the election for presidency of the association from six counties, the maximum permitted under IFA rules to run for the leadership of the organisation.

Mr Cullinan thanked the counties that nominated him for the highest office in the Association and acknowledged the support of many other counties throughout the country since he declared his candidacy for IFA President three weeks ago.

He said: “IFA members know me for what I am. I say what I mean, and I mean what I say.”

Mr. Cullinan said he was fully aware of the immense challenge he would face in leading Irish farmers over the next four years and the acute income crisis in most sectors.

The Presidential Candidate went on to say that he intended to meet as many members in the branches as is humanly possible over the next two months.

Mr. Cullinan said he had a clear vision for the IFA over the next four years. “I will fight fearlessly for farmers and I will ensure IFA is a results-focused organisation delivering for farmers and farm families, as I have done in the past.  

“From my early involvement in IFA, I have a track record of delivery on issues including the Nitrates Derogation, farm inspections, retailers, compensation packages and meat traceability,” concluded Mr. Cullinan.
