New Stay At Home Library for older Irish people abroad
EPIC The Irish Emigration Museum has developed a Stay At Home Library curated especially for older Irish people abroad who are cocooning at home.

For anyone missing Ireland, the Stay At Home Library brings entertaining, evocative and interesting Irish conversations, dramas, music, podcasts, poetry, scenery and sport to their screens. There’s no need to spend ages searching online for something to watch – it’s on one link. Everything featured is available to view internationally, and free to watch or listen to.
There are currently over 40 works featured in the Library, handpicked to appeal to many tastes. From archive programming through to concerts happening this week, this collection features some of the best culture and creative talent of Ireland, thanks to RTÉ Player, RTÉ Archives, TG4 and GAA Now. The Library will be updated regularly.
Highlights include:
- The entire series of The Meaning of Life interviews with Gay Byrne, where he meets the most well known Irish people of the time, including Mary Robinson, Colin Farrell, Gabriel Byrne, Terry Wogan and Hozier
- Travel shows sharing the most beautiful and striking Irish locations, scenery and interesting local attractions
- Seamus Heaney in his own words – an 11 part exhibition on our Nobel Laureate’s life, curated by RTÉ Archives

Because of their involvement with Irish diaspora organisations around the world and their own family situations, the EPIC team know that the enforced distance people are experiencing is tough. They know a reminder of Ireland can help older people especially, who may not have the internet skills to find the high quality content available online.
