Fostering Fortnight 6th of March – 17th of March 2023

Have you ever thought about fostering a child or young person in care? Well now could be your time. The 6th of March marks the start of Fostering Fortnight. Fostering Fortnight takes place every year and the aim is to raise awareness of the need for more foster carers in Ireland. We are continuously recruiting and assessing new foster carers all around Ireland and would like to hear from you!

At fostering first Ireland we are always looking for more foster carers to join our amazing community of carers. There are currently over 6,500 children in care in Ireland who need a safe loving family setting to thrive in. Could you make a difference that lasts a lifetime.

So, what’s the first step? The first step is to visit our website on www.fosteringfirstireland.ie to send an enquiry, we will then send you out some information and offer you to attend one of our online information evenings. At this event you will meet one of our foster carers and find out all about the process. After you have read over the information given, we will then arrange for our fostering advisor to come out to visit you in your home, where you will discuss what the assessment will entail. The process of becoming a foster parent takes 5-6 months and includes many different interviews and background checks, but don’t worry, we will be with you every step of the way through assessment and during your fostering journey.

We are really looking forward to hearing from some of you very soon! Who knows, the most amazing journey of your life could be just one click away!
