Sunday 16th January:
Portlaoise Senior 1st team are playing in Togher against Wicklow 1st in the Leinster league. Match starts at 14:30 Also Portlaoise Senior 2nd team will be playing Wicklow 2nd team in Togher at 13:00.
Portlaoise Senior 3rd team are also at home to old rivals Edenderry 3rd ‘s in Togher. This match is scheduled to start at 14:30
Portlaoise U21’s are playing Wanderers U21’s in Togher in the Gale cup pool at 14:30 on Sunday.
That is four rugby matches to view in Togher this Sunday.
Portlaoise Ladies are playing a match in their league away to Clanwilliam. The match is scheduled to start at 14:30.
Saturday 15rd January:
Portlaoise Mini’s are training in Togher. Portlaoise U13 are playing Gorey in Togher at 11:30: Portlaoise under 15; under 17 & under 19 are travelling to Gorey. Co Wexford to take on their respective Gorey teams. All matches are scheduled for 11:30 kick-off.

Portlaoise 3rd’s played their first match for 2011 in the South Leinster Provincial J3 League in Carlow town on Sunday afternoon. The sun was shining as both teams prepared to compete. From the off, Portlaoise forwards pressurised the Carlow opposition and were on the Carlow try line on three occasions inside the first 15 minutes of the match only for Carlow to recover the ball and kick for touch to relieve the play. After a determined attacking passage of play by Portlaoise, in which the pack again dominated, the pressure was rewarded with a superb try by Garrett Hall. Right from the start Portlaoise applied themselves to the job and put Carlow under pressure which was rewarded with a fine try by Kieth Donovan. Mossie McDonald duly converted. At this point Portlaoise upped the pace and were rewarded with two more tries scored by Billy Hennessy and Niall Fitzpatrick. Mossie McDonald added a conversion. The half time the score was Portlaoise 24 – Co Carlow 0.
The second half began with Portlaoise maintaining their supremacy enjoyed in the first half. Within five minutes of the start of the second half, Portlaoise‘s Stuart Cooper scored a superb try under the opposition posts which Mossie McDonald duly converted. Minutes later Conor Keane crossed the line for a try for Portlaoise. Further try’s were added to Portlaoise’s tally by John Scully, Stuart Cooper (again) and Donal Miller with Mossie McDonald gaining three conversions to bring the final score to Portlaoise 55 Co Carlow 0.
