The One Million Trees in One Day team delighted to announce the planting date

One Million Trees in One Day is a charity, not-for-profit, cross-border, community and environmental initiative which will plant a million young native trees at many different sites across both the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland in 24 hours during March 2013.  Its true aim however is to establish individual trees and woodlands in both rural and urban areas that will grow for many years and which will provide valuable resources, beneficial ecosystem services and a lasting legacy for future generations.

Trees are being accommodated at over 2,000 sites in schools and colleges, on farms, on state owned land, at community sites and on privately owned land and will be planted by professional tree planters aided by numbers of volunteers.

The Local Business Supporters’ Scheme is a large scale crowd funding and sponsorship scheme for Irish businesses which aims to engage with every business in Ireland for local support of the project.  The full scheme can be seen at www.onemilliontreesinoneday.com/businesses

Businesses can join the One Million Trees in One Day team in 3 ways:

1- By becoming one of our Local Business Sponsors.

2- By making a donation to the project.

3- By offering help with skills and services locally.

Businesses joining the scheme will be investing directly into trees at local community sites and at sites in the county in which they operate.  In exchange for support from businesses, we can offer local advertising, media coverage, on-line exposure and a wonderful brand alignment opportunity with this huge community and environmental initiative.
