New Food Prepaid Card a whole new way to experience Ireland

Good Food Ireland has introduced a new Prepaid MasterCard, a multifunctional Card, a Gift Card and Food Travel Passport, a whole new way to experience Ireland like never before. The Card was officially launched by the Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport, Leo Varadkar, T.D and offers one-to-one connections with the very best food places committed to using Irish food. It can be used in the Good Food Ireland Places to Stay, Eat, Cook and Shop all over the island of Ireland and online on the Good Food Ireland Shop which sends only the very best Irish artisan food produce direct to people’s homes in Ireland and around the world.

Speaking at the launch the Minister said “Good Food Ireland and its members have made a significant contribution to Ireland’s growing reputation as a great destination for food. Its members are committed to using local produce wherever possible, and providing a top-class service to visitors. This brings clear benefits to tourists, but it’s also vital for the tourism industry and for sustaining and creating jobs.

At the launch of the Good Food Ireland Prepaid MasterCard by Leo Varadkar, T.D., Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport were LtoR Darragh McCullough, Presenter RTE Ear to the Ground, Margaret Jeffares, Founder, Good Food Ireland, Redmond O' Donoghue, Chairman, Good Food Ireland

The Good Food Ireland Card will direct Irish people and international visitors to the very best restaurants, pubs, cafes, cookery schools, country houses and hotels that have all come together because of their passionate belief in using local food and their desire as one, to change the culinary reputation of this country.

Good Food Ireland Founder, Margaret Jeffares said “We have great food in Ireland but you just need to know where to find it. The Card will show the way and give us the chance to influence our customers and our visitors as to what a real Irish food experience is all about. We are asking the Irish people to support us in the purchasing of this card, because if we can create a greater desire amongst consumers to seek out a real Irish food experience when eating out or staying away or when going on a cookery course, our restaurants and accommodation will buy more Irish food, which in turn will create new sustainable livelihoods for Irish farmers, food producers and fishermen and contribute to the local economy“.

The Good Food Ireland Card is the Perfect Christmas Gift for friends and family and for corporate prizes and gifts. It can be purchased online on
